Nick Shipp

DipArch(cant), RIBA
graduated in 1982. nick worked for 5 years with abwaters in london as a project architect. an interim sabbatical with wheeler associates, los angeles, was followed by the formation of his first practice arcc with two other young london designers before setting up to practice in his own right. as an experienced architect on a wide range of work that also brought him into contact with interests for environmentally sensitive design and humid tropic architecture in west africa and, latterly, sri lanka.

Joseph

Joseph Fairbairn

BSc BArch(Hons)
a fellow director of nick shipp architects, joseph has over 12years of practice experience following qualification from the university of dundee. his career has seen him work in belfast, glasgow and edinburgh, notably spending a number of years working for large scale practices in edinburgh on a variety of domestic and international projects.

relocating to bath in 2010, joseph joined nsa where his experience brings strong design, presentation and technical skills to the practice.

as a champion of the practices bim cad system this enables efficient working, collaboration and output methods across all projects, also helping our clients quickly visualise and explore their projects together with us.

Ian

Ian Maddams

BA(Hons), Dip Arch
ian completed undergraduate and postgraduate courses at the university of portsmouth, and completed his part 3 course at the university of bath in 2011. through his previous work with other local architects and house builders he has developed strong skills in practical construction methods and design solutions. ian joined nsa in 2014 and has a passion for contemporary environmentally aware architecture.

ian has experience across a range of project sectors and sizes and has delivered several projects from domestic extensions to office refurbishments. he enjoys designing unique solutions, tailored to meet the individual needs of a client.

Suellen

Suellen Peleias

BA(Hons), Dip Arch
trained at londrina state university in brazil, suellen brings an exciting international perspective to nsa. suellen’s previous contemporary residential experience has provided a good foundation for her flourishing ability within the uk market.

with her experience working for nsa, suellen has a growing interest for conservation of historic buildings and environmental design.

as a 3d modeling enthusiastic, suellen has embraced the office’s computer bim software and provides strong presentation skills to the team.

Jim Reynolds

MSc
having studied in waterford, canterbury and edinburgh, jim graduated with a masters in architectural technology from edinburgh napier university. jim joined nsa in 2016 and with 12+ yrs experience provides valued technical expertise to the practice.

with a flair for the technical and detailed aspect of architecture, jim thrives in the construction stages of design and enjoys getting heavily evolved with on-site activities.

over the past years jim has gained considerable experience in a variety of sectors ranging from small scale domestic to larger commercial, educational and mixed-use developments.

Sophie

Sophie Barford

BA(Hons)
managing the administrative and marketing aspects of the practice, sophie joins us from a varied employment background having worked as a project manager for the railway, as a marketing manager for a boutique spa and an events manager for a premium visitor attraction.

working for us part time, sophie is a musician by trade and teaches a variety of instruments and music theory privately and in schools and conducts music exams around the country when not keeping us in check.
