boarding house refurbishment & extension 2009 monkton combe • bath

in a single storey side extension and internal refurbishment of Reynella, a boarding house at monkton senior school, the design responds to site constraints to keep the bulk and volume of the proposal down and the single story extension roof has a flat sedum ‘green’ roof.  This feature is hidden behind a parapet to the front and formal elevation of the late victorian original house and viewed from the rear,  uphill from the extension, the green roof will blend in as a visual continuation of the down hill slope
