worksop town football club 2003 worksop • nottinghamshire

we removed the roof from an existing single storey brick built clubhouse and added a steel and timber framed construction above an enclosing steel ring beam with external walls clad in sustainable hardwood slats and a bespoke ‘zipper’ fixing system.  The plan form enabled the street elevation to follow an unorthodox design route that plays on angles and a canted roof shape to inform the design.  The glazed elevation overlooks the football field and provides an a la carte restaurant and cocktail bar at first floor, with a fan’s clubhouse bar on the ground floor.  The ambience is Soho cool and the interior design scheme relates to something that is not at all Worksop. Panoramic views of the pitch are not permitted to be seen when games are in play!
