architects own fit-out of  this riverside apartment allowed boat design mentality to create a flexible single bedroom loft apartment for use by the family with 3 children. The brief to himself was to achieve space that 5 could could use, without seeming crowded or constrained.  Appliances and facilities pull out or put away to allow the space to become elegant at all times in the living of it and without being faced by the detrifus of life in a small area! The interior design features a cantilevered spiral staircase with a massive tubular brushed mild steel handrail and balustrades that diminish to allow views out from bed positions on the gallery level.  The construction of common part arrangements for the Piper Building was part of the overall scheme for the refurbished this ex-London Gas HQ offices, put together by Lifschutz Davidson.  John Piper art is a listed feature around the entrance podium
